Tall thistle

Cirsium altissimum. A thistle found in undisturbed roadsides, thickets and pastures, and occurring in the eastern two thirds of Kansas. Butterflies are often found on this thistle but I did not see any this morning.
In the extra are two versions that are grossly oversaturated, just for fun!
