Chick

My husband went into the garden and found our old tom cat sitting next to this little chick. He (the cat, not my husband) has never been a hunter, he once knocked the eggs out of a nest in a tree and spent the day sitting in the nest waiting for the parent birds to come back. This one must have just fledged and have been on the ground, as the old tom can just about climb fences now and definitely not trees. We decided to relocate the chick to the woods nearby, his chances aren't great, but better than trying to survive in our garden with our other cat and the neighbours cats.
