Common Toadflax

Managed to get a good seven mile walk on the Downs before the heavy rain set in. Rather few butterflies around today but I did see plenty of  Linaria vulgaris the common, or yellow, toadflax. Up here on the Downs it grows in a very dwarf form only three or four inches high. The spaniel has
come home completely covered from head to tail in burrs and I'll need to spend the next hour trying to untangle him.
