Jump Leads (177/366)

This weekend's WBC challenge theme is "LEAD".

It's been an expensive week, automotively, with my Espace needing around £1,200 spent on it to remain roadworthy, plus another £450 to fix the air conditioning, which - since it's essentially a greenhouse - is required.

I'm a believer that new drivers should drive cars on the very brink of viability. You learn so much keeping it running that is useful in later life, either in diagnosis or in driving around the problem.

When I was young, being able to jump-start a car with a flat battery was an essential skill.

Sadly, modern cars are so good that they can have loads wrong with them that you just don't realise. Then a big bill ensues. Still, the Espace has stopped depreciating, so we may well keep it on, at least as an occasional use car, for a couple years yet.
