Hector at the helm!

Here is our second visit to Piel Island just off Barrow-in-Furness, Morecambe Bay and at the helm on the way out is our very own First Mate of Quasar, Hector Hardie.  In the foreground is the Skipper of Atlas, Andy Dobson of Atlas Sailing - he was the one who said we needed to be at Fleetwood Marina by 6.00am meaning an early rise of 3.00am for me so I could pick the team up on the way!  As you approach the island the first thing you see is the ruined castle dating back to the 1200's.  Then the expanding family of seals comes into sight and into earshot - very noisy yesterday.  The Ship Inn is next (which must be visited of course) and finally the long walk down the jetty at low tide to pick up the water taxi back to our boat.  On the way out the winds were very light but on the way back we had a good amount of wind and we managed over 5 knots. I took some videos too so I am hoping to post on YouTube soon...
