North Berwick

Today was S’s birthday, and, as has become the tradition, we went to the Edinburgh Photographic Society’s annual International Photographic Exhibition. There are always 202 accepted prints, and we look around and select the three we really like. In recent years this has proved very difficult, as we struggle to find enough. This year was quite different with a great number of high class images. It appears that the predilection for ‘altered reality’ might be running its course at long last. There were many more prints where the photographer had seen a pattern or captured the moment this year, and many fewer with obvious overuse of photoshop. We then had a good value lunch at Ignite, before going to North Berwick. Here we had an ice cream and wandered around in the rock pools on the east beach. The sun shone and the clouds were good, and that is my main blip of the shore and Craigleith Island and Fife beyond. The extra is of a small surface of ripple marks and barnacles on the shore.
