this is wood - and probably dates to about 1920 or - they always made spools of thread - on wood - however these days - i believe plastic is more likely - the choice of companies - as times have advanced - which is fine but i still - enjoy seeing the wooden ones - there is something very substantial - about them, hardy - as if they can stand the test - of time no matter what - that gives me faith in the product - much more so than plastic - yet no one asked my opinion - or cared to know how it would lead to...
