Home away from home

This morning saw a trip to the Marina for a spot of dolphin watching. Unfortunately, the dolphins had other plans today so we managed to get a free-of-charge trip for next weekend.

Towards the end of the journey, we were taken into a little alcove which houses one of the Sultan's palaces. The rocks opposite have different ship and city names scrawled across them, presumably by ship crews that have docked here in the past. It's a well publicised fact that the Sultan lived in the UK as a young man in a military post and that his ties there are of great importance to him.

This particular city is where I'm from and it's a difficult city not to miss when living abroad.

I know there are a few fellow Blippers who live or work in Edinburgh. If you are one, please give me a shout in the comments below as it's great to find journals with a little piece of back home to read about.

If you're not, feel free to comment anyway!
