Still Life with Whisker

The most recent time that I burrowed under my couch pillows to thoroughly clean, I discovered this whisker, along with popcorn bits and cat hair (how does cat hair get UNDER the couch pillows??!!) woven into the fabric, tucked in a far corner, in exactly the spot where our dog Casey took naps for eight years. So here, for National Dog Day , a day late, is what I have left of our beloved pooch, besides memories, pictures, her leash and name tag. I think it's cool that it has remained hidden for five yearas despite repeated vacuuming. I'm thinking about having her cloned.
