Change

Change is not alway easy. That's an understatement, I guess. My Aunt Rose turns 92 in a few days. She has been amazingly healthy, considering her age, up until the past couple of months, anyway. Memory deterioration and several scary falls caused by 'fainting spells' have changed her life and so Tia Rose has moved from Assisted Living to the Memory Unit, thankfully at the same wonderful facility. She lives now in a smaller unit with a wonderful view of a natural area, she is still able to eat her meals in the main dining room with her friends, who love her and 'watch out' for her. But she has slid into depression, cries often and says that she sees no reason to continue living. I'm spending a couple of days with Tia Rose. Tomorrow I'll hammer nails and stick her fragile memories to the new walls to try to make the place feel a little more friendly. The image above is a shot of the 'code pad' for entering and exiting the Memory Unit. I'll share the 'code' with you when you visit.
