3-2-1-jump!

A big day here - even tho it was a late start… Being warned that this might be the last day of
lovely weather and water, the girls finally decided to go out in boats!    Tatum rowed with her friend A who has been taking rowing lessons. (extra)  Friend I went out in the kayak and then wanted to try the rowing shell, having never been in one,  so A took her out also for a first lesson.   Then they decided to jump off the dock.. It’s Tatum’s first time to do this (peer pressure made it happen, after considerable hesitation) and of course then it was great fun…so ….many jumps….cold off the dock tho .  I liked this one when they all decided to put on a life jacket to look alike.  Go Tatum!

But there’s more!  H and I got to go out for dinner!  We texted the Restaurant “Vongole Italianne” located in the Tall house (since 1933, according to the sign!) for reservations for 2  and had the outdoor dining area to ourselves with the hostess, the waitress and the chief chef giving us lots of attention.  The menu was “drinks: water milk or wine  appetizer:salted tortilla chips with humus dip, Entrees and salad: tortellini e pesto and macedonia avocado, desserts:biscotti al cioccolato, cream biscotti piena, and cracker con cream di cioccolato all nocciala”    All most yummy and well presented by the attentive staff. (the extra, after their work was done))  There was a lot of giggling in the kitchen. With phones of course.   We didn’t have any money for “il conto,” so we had to do the dishes.   All fair.  what a treat!!!  dinner out!!

It’s official.. this was the driest April thru July on record EVER in Vancouver!!!  There is big rain predicted tomorrow or Saturday for the next several days…we’ll see how that goes….. flash floods are feared because of the hard ground.

Added a bunch of photos to the girls flickr set…
