From our bedroom window

Left a very wet Glenridding this morning to view a couple of properties one around Kendal the other the far side of the county near Millom. Both properties had their plus sides but neither fitted the bill, nor did a further property we went to see on spec. This was a huge house, very nice too, but not in the sort of place we wanted to be.

Then it was time for the journey south to Shropshire where we're staying with my cousin for the duration of the Shrewsbury Folk Festival. Swapping luxurious accommodation of Inn on the Lake for the homely comforts. If we can't find somewhere up in the Lakes we'll still be able to enjoy places like Inn on the Lake.

The trip from the Western Peninsulas of the Lake District is very tortuous, which is one of the reasons not for wanting to live in that area, windy roads, steep hills and lots of slow moving heavy trucks. Which was just what the M6 was like too, lots of very slow moving traffic. The shortest route, on the A49 wasn't much good either with lots of traffic lights and speed restrictions so it was a tossup as to whether it would have been better to stay on the congested M6 or take the route that we did.

Thank you for the comments on the shots from the Lakes, I'll try to reply when I can find a minute more!
