3000ft+

Driving through the Haute-Alpes is always spectacular. Very busy though. We were quite taken with the rock formations, such as those in the extra picture at the hamlet of La Rochette, near St-Julien-en-Beauchêne. One seems to have had a castle on top. I’m sure there is a story behind this, but I can’t find it at the moment. There are many better images of it on the web. We just couldn’t find anywhere to take a better photograph from.

We are now at Gréoux-les-Bains and it is very hot. We might reach Bonnieux tomorrow . . . at last!
