Renovations

Yes more shots of the building work but it is dominating my life just now leaving little time or energy to blip.

From this shot you can see what is getting done.
Stage 1 the lathe and plaster is removed, a disgusting and hard job. Underneath is the stone walks and the wooden frame see top and bottom right of shot.
Stage 2 the 50cm of kingspan insulation is fitted between the wood work, this is very quick, see top left.
Stage 3. plasterboard is nailed on top, this is 30cm deep and has an insulating back and a moisture barrier, See bottom left
Stage 4 the walls are plastered and the new skirting boards added. They have also moved and rewired the electrical sockets.
Stage 5 I must repaint all the rooms, this is going to take some time.

We have had 4 rooms done like this in order to retain heat in the house, we have/had a very cold house. So cold that my relatives refuse to come to visit....(hmm maybe that's an upside so I won't tell them)

So far they have done 2 rooms to stage 3 and most of the third room seen above. Next week they must tackle the 4th room and continue with stage 4. The company from the central belt have so far been brilliant and both guys are working very hard.

Today they went home for the weekend and I have been trying to remove some of the layers of dust. A pointless task at present but I need to start some where.
