Back in Time

As usual the wind has picked up and become very strong although it remains hot.

I have had a good day today, not exciting, but good.

It was a choice this morning between bicycle ride or cleaning our Trastero.

The Trastero won (literal translation - junk room) which is what is it!    A lock up room in the garage area.

It actually was not so bad but it is the place where, if you don't know what to do with something, it goes in there, and generally the first place you can find.   However, I had had some white gravel out of the bag a few weeks ago and it was a mess.   So that's all cleaned and sorted and another bag for the charity shop.   Then decided it was time I finished off the kitchen tiles and cupboards.   That done - lunchtime.

Whilst we were sorting out, Al re-discovered an old book entitled "Everybody's Home recipe Book", given to us by my mum.    It is quite yellow/brown but I don't think it would have been very white originally as the pages are quite thick.   Unfortunately there is no date of publishing on it.   Some old fashioned tips and recipes (for which you probably couldn't get the right cut of meat now) and 'new' appliances (extra photo).   Al found a good recipe for Apple Bread Pudding, so will try that in the winter.   I feel a future blip!

It was the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final this afternoon, two Yorkshire teams competing but Leeds won in the end with a record score and the first player to score 5 tries in the final on the 115th Cup Final.   It is also 120 years since the Sport was first started (1895) at a Meeting held in the George Hotel in Huddersfield.
