A Joke

Another great evening in Baltimore - the last of the four friday concerts in St Mathew's church. We were royally entertained by Frankie Gavin (fiddle) and Arty McGlinn (guitar). The music was mighty and so were the jokes. Here's one (nb I'm terrible at telling jokes):
The Pope was over in Ireland on his 1979 tour. He was given the day off from religious duties to do a bit of sightseeing and his driver took him off in the Popemobile to the Ring of Kerry. After a little while the Pope confessed he would like to drive. Sure said his driver, swopping places, I'll have a wee smoke.
The Pope was roaring around the Ring when he was pulled over by a Garda. it was the Garda's first day on duty and he wanted to get everything right. He had a look in the Popemobile and decided he might need some advice on how to handle the situation.
He rang the station.
I've just pulled over someone very important - what should I do?
Would he be more importan than the sargeant?
He would.
Would he be more importan than the Superintendant?
He would.
Would he be more important than the Taoiseach?
He would.
Would he be more important than the President?
He would.
Who the divil can it be?
I don't know but he's got the Pope driving him around.
