Malham Show

Up early for a trip to Malham for a mountain bike score orienteering event. Really enjoyed our three and a half hours in the saddle cycling up past Goredale Scar and Malham Tarn.

The event was run as part of Malham Show. When we arrived an old damaged dry stone wall was being dismantled in preparation for the competitors. This is the first time I have seen a competition of this sort and by the time we returned progress had been made! What a great way to keep the tradition alive

I liked this shot showing the importance of selecting the correct bit of limestone. If you look carefully in the background you can see evidence of the dry stone walls which characterise the Yorkshire Dales.
