Lavender Harvest

The problem with going away for five weeks at this time of year is deciding when to pick my lavender.
Before I went it just wasn't ready and now I'm home it's just past its best.
Nevertheless I cropped half of my lavender border at the allotment this morning and have just spent a couple of hours picking it over and bunching it up.

Sixteen bunches so far and a bowl of droppings ready to dry.

Too late to hang it upside down to dry out I'm going to put some of this in jugs and vases around the house and let it dry there. I'll have to stand the jugs and vases in bowls to collect the lavender as it dries and drops off

House smells heavenly at the moment.
