Ageratina altissima can grow to five feet. It grows in disturbed sites and stream edges. It contains tremetol which is toxic to livestock and will cause "trembles". The animal loses its general condition and it can be fatal. It can be transferred in cow's milk and it is said that Abraham Lincoln's mother may have died from this condition called " milk fever" in humans (Information courtesy of Michael Haddock, "Wildflowers and Grasses of Kansas, p. 128)
The extra shows the whole plant.

Thank you all for your stars and comments on the black locust. We have another locust which I will use another day.
