Promenade des Anglais

The museums in Nice all have exhibitions relating to the Promendade des Anglais.

This morning we went to the Photography museum to see the photos that Martin Parr took over a 3 day period in early July. Each day he would go to the beach and take photos, edit and print within 4 hours and they would be exhibited the next day. We were originally due to be in Nice that week but had to cut it short so went home before he started shooting. At least we got to see the final photos.

As I had to pay to get in the Photography museum (RobT being a student of photography got in free), I was upsold to a 7 day museum pass for an extra 10 Euros.

This afternoon we went to the Galerie de la Marine and the Galerie de la Ponchettes. The first was exhibiting the work of some art student which wasn't great. The second had a quite interesting exhibition all about the pebbles of Nice. These preserved fish in jars showing the local fishy wildlife looked like an interesting blip so here you have it.
