Water Tower...

This unusual structure is a water tower near the High Legh Garden Centre. I believe water was pumped to the top of it and that head of water would keep the water pressure in the houses in the surrounding area at a level that keep the water flowing.

I think the water must be kept moving another way these days. The tower is being converted into an unusual home at the moment.
