A hard day in the mountains

Today we climbed Creise and Meall a Bhuiridh. Two big hills over 1100m with a slog round on boggy ground but then a lovely scramble up a long ridge to the first summit. Fortunately it was a day of watching showers pass by with only a few drops coming our way. The picture looks back over our ascent route with the prow of Buachaille Etive Mor and the Glencoe road in the background.

We then got back to rest our aching limbs in front of the telly and watch the highlights of the Vuelta cycle race in Spain, where they had 5 ascents totalling over 5000m - so I guess we just had it easy. Poor old Froomy dropped off the back after taking a tumble and it may be all over for him. We wish him well but I expect he may be too sore and stiff to continue tomorrow. Or am I talking about us again?
