My alternative diary

Do flies drink water?

This afternoon I was out in the garden in-between showers to capture a blip. Most of the plants had drops of rain water on them and I started to see what they would look like. I came to a new Gladiolus spike just beginning to bloom and saw this little fly appearing to be hanging from the edge of a petal. What was it doing? It looked just as though it was quenching its thirst. I wonder if it was having a drink?

Today’s extra is a poppy seed head that had a little sunlight on it and I thought quite nice.
