Day at a Time

Apples

I have a little apple tree in the garden. For a few years now it's been smothered by the next door neighbours' holly which grew unchecked. The poor wee apple tree had no strength or light to produce blossom and fruit. This spring the holly was chopped back and the apple tree came back to life. It has a total of five apples this year. Here are two of them. They wouldn't pass muster for the supermarket buyers as one has a slight blemish but I'm delighted to see them.

Early blip as about to leave for Edinburgh. A very busy day beckons then a treat as I'll be staying in town late to have dinner with a friend.
