A simple Cabbage White butterfly

Also known as Pieris Brassicae, not a very popular creature, hated by most veg growers and gardeners. In 2010, this butterfly was found in New Zealand where it has been named the Great White. It is classed as a pest and in 2013, the Department of Conservation offered a reward of $10 for each one handed in. Even though they can create havoc when they are at the caterpillar stage, I quite like these lovely little things and to my mind, they are an essential part of a typical British garden. I hope you agree.
