The professional environment in Cambodia can be difficult. I have some colleagues and know some partner organisations who are a joy to work with. But because the government has such a stranglehold on many NGO activities and because the government largely operates on a system of corruption where officials aren't motivated by the cause, it often gives very little faith in the long-term success of projects. Despondency over interactions with the government is one of the main reasons I should look at my upcoming transition positively.
