It's nearly gone!

So sad, a silver birch tree in a neighbour's garden is being cut down, more screening gone. Decision what tree to plant in my garden to act as a screen without being too dominant?

I have added a second picture, now finished with the silver birch the men have started demolishing another, larger tree which was popular with the local bird life. So sad, will have to get planting myself - will definitely be planting a hawthorn once the rear fence has been replaced.
