There is a New Man in Town

You and I thought that today's blip would be a wonderful photograph of amazing mountains covered in snow! Well no, I woke to a cloud inversion, so a perfect day to blip this new man in town.

It has a plaque which reads:
WORLD'S FIRST SHEEP DOG TRIALS
This memorial commemorates the world's first recorded sheep dog
trial held on the 18th April 1867 at Dog Match Flat near the
Cardrona Road.
The annual trials were later held at Mt Grandview.
The Wanaka Collie Club was formed in 1918 and from then until
2004 trials were held on this site at the foot of Mt Iron including the
Wanaka Expo International Dog Trials in 1976.
Annual trials are now held at Alpha Burn Station at Glendhu Bay.
Erected in 2012 by the NZ and Wanaka Collie Clubs with support from the
Hawea/Wanaka Musterers Reunion.

Many thanks to all of you who wished Ali a 'Happy Birthday'. She was thrilled to read them all at her birthday dinner last night.
