pub lunch

visited our old next door neighbours today so had another lovely catch up over a cuppa or two with them and then stopped at the lovely local pub for a spot of lunch!

The Hoy & Helmet 15th C though some parts date back to 11th C. Grade 2 Listed. Built on the site of the battle. The Hoy was used as coroners court room in the 19th C. Dick Turpin was rumoured to be  a regular. Rumour has it that The Hoy was used for smuggling and the tunnels used under the car park are still there today and link to St Mary's Church and haunted.
