Anti-squirrel planting kit

Thank you Blippers for all your advice on how to deter squirrels!  I did a bit of reading over night too and discovered that there are certain bulbs - allium, fritillary, daffodils lily of the valley, hyacinths - that they don't like!  They also don't deal with buried chicken wire and gravel very well.

So this morning, we went on a hunt for anti squirrel equipment and are now ready to start planting.  I have bought some tulips and croci but am hoping to protect them with the chicken wire and gravel.  I'm told red pepper does a good job too but you have to keep renewing it.  We'll see how we get on!
