Approaching The Summit Of Thwaite Scars

Parked beside St James' Church then headed up Thwaite Lane which passes through two short tunnels that the owner of Ingleborough Hall had built about 150 years ago for servants and privacy. Left at the next lane junction to head north until a gate beside some pens where a route upwards to Thaite Scars is obvious with one wall crossing. Then pick your cairn on a flattish but undulatiing limestone grassland upland.
