Hoose on the Hill

Taken across the Craig Goch reservoir, this bothy was refurbished in 2013 from a farmhouse last lived in in the 1950s. The shot was mainly to try out my "new" lens which arrived today. (Nikkor 300mm f4.5 AIs). As far as I can tell, the lens sharpness easily exceeds that which the camera can record. And it was taken from about 1km away and is uncropped. Result!

The Robin's Pincushion is something I had never seen before. Apparently it is caused by a gall wasp on dog rose and produces this lovely colour.

The spray from the water under the Penbont bridge gives this shot an old postcard look which I quite like.
