Drama in the Evening at St Abbs

The crew of the inshore boat were scrambled just after six to a call to assist the Eyemouth Allweather lifeboat as some people had been swept off the rocks near Eyemouth and of course the big boat can't get in as close as the inshore boat.
In heavy seas that's really dangerous, and to make matters worse, one of the twin outboard engines wouldn't start!
In the second image you can see a crewman with the cover off the engine, and thankfully he did manage to fix in time to join in the search with the Eyemouth all weather boat and air sea rescue helicopter.
In the back of the boat you can see a little blue flag "Save the Eyemouth lifeboat"
Sadly I'm told the station will close in a few weeks, so I may have witnessed one of their last callouts.
I could weep for them! and for the people they will not now be able to save.
As I write this at twenty to eight, there is no news of how the rescue went.
On a lighter note the final image is of a family on the beach at Bamburgh, the little meeting was  due to hearing the musical chimes as an ice cream wagon pulled up on the clifftop.
