tyson...

...says goodbye to the Show Champion Holstein  he has raised, cared for and entered into the Dairy Cow category at the annual Ravalli County Fair where the motto is 'Sew it, Grow it and Show it'.
At auction she was sold to new owner Dave who Tyson reckons will look after her very well.

Late Saturday afternoon and the last day and evening of the Fair and Rodeo are in full swing. The usual lights and tumbling carousels and ferris wheels but also big barns displaying  livestock, produce, quilts and arts all now judged and awarded.
Lots of lads and lasses with big hats and bigger smiles hang around their animals in the barns and judging by the signs many of the animals are raised by these youngsters and the auction proceeds go towards college funds...The Rocky Mountain Kids 4H Club banner proclaiming 'Saving for College 1 Pork Chop at a Time'!

Back on our saved bleacher seats in the Rocking RC Rodeo Arena and well rugged up...it is very cold and in Glacier Park it's snowing!...the Bitterroot Mountettes Equestrian Drill Team start proceedings (extra).
New rodeo royalty is crowned, bucking broncos and bulls unseat most though a few hang on (extra) and the evening is carried away at full pelt with team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and trick riding.

There is a great sense of community here in the Bitterroot valley towns and celebrating  108 years at the fair a great way to bring community together.
