What The Blip!

Angled Descent

How the descent into Holloway Road underground station might look to many who have partaken in post match beverages at a certain North London football stadium which I can't bring myself to name here!

Took this picture following an afternoon of defending (and subsequently) losing the trophy I won last November at Rowans Bowling Lanes in Finsbury Park. Afterwards our cadre of exhausted bowlers headed to a flat warming party in a building that overlooked the aforementioned Stadium. Lovely flat...apart from the view! ;)

Earlier in the day I participated in a Marathon Relay Race in Redbridge near where I live. It was organised by the excellently named 'Sikhs In The City' and took the format of teams of between 3-5 runners completing the 42 kilometres by running 21 laps of a 2km circuit around local roads.

Due to late withdrawals our 2 teams of 5 became 2 teams of 3 which meant everyone had to chip in more laps to complete the total. Undaunted we set to our task and although our teams finished last (as all other teams had 5 runners) we did ourselves proud and more importantly thoroughly enjoyed the race.

The highlight was getting our medals presented to us by Fauja Singh, who at 104 years of age is still running and hold the world record in the marathon for the 90+ and 100+ age categories. See a pic of our teams on Instagram.
