Hemingford Grey - ( The Children of Green Knowe)

We visited this historic home in Cambridgeshire joined by an other old friend from Leicestershire days, Katie. The weather was awful but we still had a fascinating tour led by the daughter- in - law of the writer of the Green Knowe stories. This room contained all the toys which appear in the stories.
It's worth a visit for the patchwork quilts Lucy Boston worked on all her life and the peaceful gardens near the River Great Ouse.
The rain didn't allow us to tarry long in the gardens but we had a very pleasant long lunch in the village coffee shop run by the village itself.Lots to catch up on.
