Mission Accomplished

With another edition of the Yachter magazine finally completed, printed and published for members of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club.
This is the autumn edition, published in time for the Southampton Boat Show which opens on Friday. The Yacht Club will be there with a stand to promote facilities at its clubhouses and the benefits of membership.
But then the Club and Boat Show, now billed as one of the biggest on-water displays of anything to do with boating in Europe, have a long association. The original founders of the show 47 years ago were both Yacht Club members.
It's appropriate that the magazine is published in time for the show, although its content is geared as much to club and sailing activities as it is featuring the Boat Show.
It also means laptop, iPad and iPhone have scarcely left my side for the past two months, pulling it all together. And after a lifetime involved in newspapers, magazines and publishing,
I still get a kick, when like today I can get my hands on the finished glossy product. That's one thing you cannot do with online publications
