Montreal

We got a lie in this morning until 6.45am....hooray!

Sadly, breakfast was chaos so the coach ended up leaving late.

We are more savvy after doing the trip last year, so gave the hotel breakfast a miss and bought food from a place down the road, which by all accounts was a wise move.

There's another couple on the coach that did the same trip as us last year, but they were on the tour after ours. It was good comparing notes with them. Another couple have been asking us about last years trip, and after hearing us chatting with the other couple, they said they are going to book it as soon as they get home.
We should be on commission!

The weather was fab; dry and warm and a pleasant temperature for strolling about.

We went back into Quebec for another walking tour; this time the lower part of the city (which reminded us of Chester).
We had a different tour guide for this, a lady called Silkey. Tour guides need a licence to work in Canada and our regular guide Dean doesn't have one, so they hire in a local guide for a couple of hours.

She had a great sense of humour, and said the summer this year had passed unnoticed (sounds a lot the rubbish summer we've had at home).

The drive to Montreal was about 3 hours, so not too bad.

Montreal is different to Quebec; there seems to be more of a mixture of old and new architecture.
We had a little walk around the streets close to Notre Dame, with time for a beer before we left for the hotel.

There's not to much around the hotel, except other hotels, so we are going to have a wander as there are shops and restaurants a few blocks away.

We've been warned tomorrow is the longest drive, but we get to break up the journey to Toronto with a stop off in Ottawa.

Thanks for all your comments, faves and stars so far. I'm trying to keep up with comments as best I can, but haven't had chance to view your blips properly.
I've something to look forward to when we get home :-)
