A right Royal Occasion!

60009 Union of South Africa heads the train carrying the Royal party to the opening of the new Borders Railway at Tweedbank.  Her majesty is in the Pullman car (2nd coach).
This shot was taken above Shawfair station which is a completely new stretch of line, necessary because the old Waverley route could not be used here.  Shawfair will be at the heart of a big new housing development.
