Fly Agaric Fungus

This morning my old car passed it's MOT. I was pleased because due to it's age and condition it wouldn't be worth an expensive repair.

While I was in the area I went for a walk at Ifton Meadows Nature Reserve, a site that has been reclaimed from the spoil heaps of Ifton Colliery.

I spotted this beautiful fly agaric , the first I've seen this year. They're so attractive yet poisonous, not to wildlife though as this was the only one without nibble holes in. They're real picture book fungi and always look as if they should have little people sitting on them!
