Grown-up

Somewhere in this lovely city I call home you will find yourself in a maze of concrete blocks. Unlike other concrete jungles, this maze serves a purpose. It serves to remind of the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime against the Jewish population during the Holocaust.

Given any day you will find a mix of people in there. Some play hide and seek, some take photos, some reminisce about the past, some get told off by the wardens for climbing on the concrete. No matter how much fun you allow yourself to have in this concrete maze - I mean the artist did intend it to be interactive, tried to engage people with this horrible past - you feel a chill. Be it the sunniest day, you still feel that chill that tells you, it's ok to move on, but don't forget.

Looking at the kid in the stroller I wonder if she has just felt it.
