Desert Squirrel

Triller chick

This little bird was one of two triller chicks that fledged while we were staying on Niue.  The nest was just outside our fale, and so we had a great view of the progress of these hungry little birds.  Parents brought a regular supply of caterpillars and other fodder, which immediately disappeared down the open throats of their offspring.  A never ending job feeding such fast growing chicks.
