Blind Jack's - Knaresborough

This is Blind Jack's pub in Knaresborough.
The name originates after a John Metcalf who was an accomplished civil engineer born in Knaresborough in 1717 . He lost his sight due to a smallpox infection at thre age of six and became known as Blind Jack Metcalf, or Blind Jack of Knaresborough.
It is a traditional pub with bare wooden floors and beams serving proper beer.
I particularly like the trompe l'oeil on the outside wall which is a lively splash of colour.
Wandering around Knaresborough, there are several buildings sporting their own trompe l'oeil. I spotted several, one of which is in today's extra photo.
