We have had the most wonderful day at Sir Peter Scott's Wildlife Wetland Centre at Slimbridge!  Apart from the many British birds and threatened species this  Red Crowned Crane gave us such a display, we laughed for ages!  It is one if the largest crane species at about 158 cm tall, weighing up to 10kg feeds on small amphibians and invertebrates, insects and plants.  In the wild there are only about 2750 left with numbers falling  Here they are being bred and released.  We are late posting after having to sort through hundreds of images, but this one and his singing partner (extra) made us chuckle!
