Balliol College Oxford

An outing today in Oxford. We spent most of the day at the Ashmolean Museum, the first university museum ever, which opened in 1683. Its collections cover nearly every field imaginable.  We had a wonderful time, including a sandwich lunch in a pleasant cafe. In the afternoon we went to the covered market, with high class shops of all varieties.

Walking back we passed Balliol (pronounced BALE-ee-uhl), one of the most prestigious of Oxford's 38 colleges--here you see only part of its frontage on Broad Street.
