Antigua

We had a great day and night in Antigua before we headed to San Pedro. We met up with Venetia and Amy and Tat and explored the maze of markets that the colonial town has to offer. Then met up with the Irish lads for lunch and coffee. We also found what must be the fanciest McDonalds in the world. We didn't eat there but wandered around it's stunning courtyard in shock. If it wasn't for the plastic Ronald McDonald sitting on one of the benches you'd swear you were in a very fancy establishment.

That evening we watched the volcano Fuego, the most active volcano in the world, casually erupt from the rooftop bar in our hostel. Then we met up with the lads and Speef's friend Richie and his group for a great night out in a tiny Irish bar called The Snug. The next morning we walked up to the Cerro de la Cruz which gives a great view of Antigua and Its surrounding volcanos Fuego, Agua, Acatenanga and Pacaya. Later that day we jumped on a shuttle to San Pedro.

We got back to Antigua today with the lads and met up with Venetia and Amy again. We've just grabbed a delicious meal of pulled pork and ribs in a grill house and we're all about to hop on a 15hr shuttle to Leon in Nicaragua. We have to pass through both El Salvador and Honduras and their border security so the journey should be great fun!!
