A good winter for the blackbirds

The hedge in the front of the house between us and our neighbours needed the top and sides trimming off.
The art is to do this without removing any of the berries, the blackbirds love them in the winter.
This is our side of the hedge which has lots of berries, hardly any on the other side because it is North facing, and I think they aren't so careful when trimming. I do go around their side to do the top as it gets very scraggy with the Pyracantha shooting skyward.
The Blackbirds also use this hedge for nesting every year and another pair in the back garden.
