The Sower, in the grasses

This is a notable statue in Kew Gardens. It was made by Sir Hamo Thornycroft RA (1850-1925). Another of his statues is Oliver Cromwell outside the Palace of Westminster and and another  Alfred at Winchester. His brother was the Thorneycroft (John) who was a shipbuilder and was based at Hampton for a while. 

This figure always reminds me of the 'logo' on the back of my New  English Bible - for the Bible Societies. I don't if this is where their image came from.
