Sue's blousey roses

Spotted these roses on the way to yet another trip out, this time on my bike to take a book back to the library but also to call in again at a supermarket for more supplies. Susan's sister and husband are with us for a couple of days enroute for France. They stayed at the Warner's hotel in Cheshire where we were all meant to be last week to celebrate Doreen's 90th birthday.

Fortunately, Doreen's tests today were very postive and encouraging and we think we've got to the bottom of it. Treatment is now lined up and we feel we can look forward with some confidence. While Susan was at the hospital with her mum I was able to sneak off for a swim.

On the way back from the pool it was a case of calling in again at the shops for more supplies before spending most of the afternoon cooking and baking for tonight's meal - spag bol with runner beans and apple tarte tatin and creme fraiche. Accompanied by a glass or two of beer, wine and whisky. A very enjoyable evening.
