Hello sailor!

Spotted this out front this morning. No, we are not at war. The Greek Navy arrives this time every year to commemorate the lives lost when a Greek submarine was sunk in the waters between Skiathos and Glossa during the second world war. No prizes for guessing who sank it. Naval types in white suits will hold small services in both Skiathos Town and also Glossa village. The service in Glossa village will also commemorate our local hero Nikolaos Kapadouka who was killed in Cyprus in 1964.
